Through the recent heatwave we not only installed more fans at the guest hub, we gave guests an opportunity to feel a cool coastal breeze.

As always, our staff sprang into action during the July-August heatwave and implemented simple measures to ensure our Guest Hub was a sanctuary from the soaring temperatures.

We made our outside container available for homeless guests who wanted a cooler space for sleeping. We bought extra fans for the Guest Hub and gave our homeless dogs cooling mats and vests.

Cold water, ice lollies and fruit kept our guests hydrated and, on a day when temperatures hit 35 degrees, we ordered pizzas rather than use the ovens in our open kitchen.

Our annual trip to Weston-super-Mare was a chance for guests to get a change of scene and cool off by the sea. The day-trippers enjoyed fish and chips and all of the fun of Weston’s Grand Pier.

Our annual trip is a memorable day for all. Thank you to Zurich Community Fund for funding this experience.
