Our services during Covid-19
Updated Jan 1st: Due to the new Tier Four restrictions, Open Door will now CLOSE. Guests will not be able to collect takeaways or food parcels.
For guests with a previous government shielding letter or who have been told to self isolate, we may be able to deliver food parcels. If this is you, please call 07504 337 624.
Please not this service is available only from when we reopen – Wednesday 6th January onwards.
Our services outside of Covid-19
At Cheltenham Open Door we offer a range of services to our guests. Guests do not need a referral; anyone who needs us is welcome to join us, without question. If you believe someone needs our services, please suggest they visit us for a warm welcome and the following help:
Guests are welcomed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays from 9.30am to 1pm.
Breakfast is served from 9.30am ( help-yourself service with cereals, toasts and spreads). Guests can help themselves to hot drinks throughout the day and can socialise in our dining and lounge areas. Our dedicated chef serves a hot, two-course meal at 12 noon.
On Sundays we serve a cooked breakfast from 9.45am until 11.45am.
Food on the go
Guests can always request a food parcel to take away. Food parcels are tailored to our guests’ needs. The contents of food parcels are made up entirely from donations; to help, please visit our donate page.
On Sundays, guests can take away a lunch bag (after our cooked breakfast session).
On Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays we offer sandwiches to guests who meet outside Marks and Spencer’s, Cheltenham High Street at 7pm.
Guests can help themselves to clean, good quality clothing from our clothing store (to donate clothes, see our donate page).
Guests can shower in our shower room. We provide fresh towels and miniature toiletries.
Guests can always request toiletries to take away (to donate miniature and full-sized toiletries, see our donate page).
We have washing and drying facilities on site. Guests have the opportunity to launder and dry clothes with us.
Homeless guests often cannot be housed immediately. In the interim, we can offer “street kit” – flasks, sleeping bags, survival bags, etc (to donate kit, see our donate page).
Referrals and signposting
We help our guests to access other services, like housing charities and services (P3), Addiction assistance (CGL), Citizens’ Advice sessions and Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (night shelter) provision.
