Our resident podiatrist Emma has received a Silver Award at the recent National Women’s Business Awards in the Micro Business category.
Emma’s work at our Guest Hub is vital. She told us: “With fortnightly sessions, we’re able to provide consistent care — preventing serious infections and encouraging access to wider NHS services for diabetes, wound care, and other chronic conditions.
“For those living on the streets or transient, the ability to walk pain-free is essential. I treat painful corns, remove glass, dress wounds, offer hygiene advice, and help with insoles or pressure relief. I also write letters to GPs to help guests access the care they need.

“Beyond the treatment, each session is a chance to offer one-to-one support, compassion, and a listening ear. I’m not a counsellor, but guests often confide in me — and I hope they leave feeling seen, supported, and just a little lighter. That’s always the aim.”
Congratulations, Emma. You truly deserve it!
