Eight days in the desert to fundraise

This lady is a superwoman!  Not only has Nicki Marsh completed the Marathon des Sables – running for 8 days in the desert, in 50-55 degree heat and with up to 85 kilometre distances in one day – but she has also been the most ardent, compassionate and generous supporter of two local charities : the Friends of the Cheltenham Samaritans and Cheltenham Open Door.  What a lady!  A huge thank you from the bottom of our heart for over £2,300 raised for Cheltenham Open Door.    

Nicki says, “The fatigue 20 hours in when you feel the end will never arrive is next level and this is when you pull every ounce of strength mentally. It’s moments like this when the sponsorship from everyone kept me moving forward and again remembering that it is a privilege to be there and able to push ourselves to our limits mentally and physically.”
